Best time to visit Istanbul would be either in autumn (Oct - Dec) or Spring (Apr – Jun) when the temperature is not too hot or too cold.

Eating Out

Turkish food is very lovely, from local food to fine dining, other cuisines are also available such as International, Arabic, Mediterranean etc. The famous Turkish sweets and ice-cream is a must, you can find it at the walking street in Taksim Square.

Getting Around

Transportation in Istanbul is convenience and inexpensive, you can getting around by Tram, Metro, Bus, Taxi, Boat.

From Istanbul Ataturk airport, there is airport bus about every 30 mins departure to town. The cost is around 12-15TRY per person per way (*please note that this rate can be changed anytime, and we do not gaurantee the prices)

From Sabiha is a bit far to city center, there is shuttle bus service operating every hour and you can also book them in advance.

Most local people are using Turkish language, not everyone can speak English, but still you can get around easily.

Local currency: Turkish Lira (TRY)  /  approx. 3.78 Turkish Lira = 1 USD

If you are a lady travelling alone, please be careful for any taxi driver may approch you asking to drop you somewhere, especially if you take airport bus from airport to Taksim. It will be safer to get public transportation for a lady sole traveller. But overall, Turkish people are very friendly, very kind and helpful.

There are too many things to see obviously.

We recommend a visit to Dolmabahce Palace, Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmed Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace.

For shopping can go to Taksim for High street Shops, Grand Bazaar for Souvenirs and local goods. If you preferred luxury shopping and dining, we recommend Zorlu Center.
